PSYCHOLOGICAL SERVICES
INITIAL PSYCHOLOGICAL EVALUATION
During this initial 60-90 minute meeting (and as needed subsequent meetings) we will discuss what to expect from working with me, what brought you to therapy, relevant history, and your goals. It generally takes between 1-4 sessions to complete the evaluation depending on complexity. I also utilize varying degrees of assessment to inform your treatment and progress. If it turns out that am not a good fit, I will do my best to provide referrals that may be better for your treatment needs.
INDIVIDUAL THERAPY
These sessions target the treatment goals we have created together. At the core of my approach, I utilize Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), which is an experiential, behavioral, and mindfulness-based intervention. For anxiety and OCD I will often include exposure-based approaches (e.g., exposure and response prevention). I also am trained in other evidence-based approaches (e.g., cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia) that I may draw from as indicated.
FAMILY THERAPY/PARENT CONSULTATION
I conceptualize my client's challenges both from an individual and systems level. This means at times individual therapy may not be enough and including parents, or the larger family system is necessary. Parent consultation sessions do not include the identified client while family therapy sessions do, and both are generally 50 minutes in length. These sessions target areas such as communication patterns, behavior management, and developing optimal family support for anxiety.
