COMMON QUERIES

WHAT KIND OF CLIENTS DO YOU WORK WITH?

The bulk of my training is with child and adolescent clients, but I am also comfortable working with adult clients. For young children, I utilize parent consultation/training as the primary intervention. My practice is focused on primary anxiety and obsessive-compulsive disorders, although I am open to working with many other co-occurring conditions. While my experience in risk assessment and crisis intervention is extensive, I do not currently take clients who are in regular acute crisis or were recently discharged from an inpatient psychiatric hospitalization. I am always happy to provide referrals/resources if we are unable to work together.

HOW LONG DOES EACH THERAPY SESSION TAKE?

Everyone has different needs, but most sessions will be 50 minutes, unless otherwise discussed. I offer 30 minute appointments, but only as appropriate (e.g., once established in therapy and needing a briefer maintenance check-in).

HOW MANY SESSIONS DOES THERAPY TAKE?

This depends on your goals, the complexity of the presenting concerns, and at times unforeseen circumstances. Some people benefit from just a few sessions, while others may need therapy for a year or more. While I significantly value the therapeutic relationship I build with my client, I want them to use me only as needed and do my best to make therapy an effective, yet efficient process.

DO YOU HAVE IN-PERSON APPOINTMENTS?

I offer virtual appointments only at this time.

DO YOU TAKE INSURANCE?

I do not take insurance and I am considered an out-of-network provider. This has benefits such as increased privacy, more flexibility with treatment course, and allows me to keep my caseload smaller. I will give you an itemized "superbill" you may submit to your insurance for possible reimbursement at the end of each month. I recommend you contact your insurance company before meeting with me to see if you have out-of-network benefits for therapy. See a common list of CPT billing codes that I may use in the fees section below.
